At Change Fitness, our goal is to create a supportive community of balance, movement and awareness of the body and mind. We believe that consistency is key in creating healthy lifestyle changes, and we are committed to educating our community on how to make small changes over time that lead to positive permanent changes in your overall health & fitness.

The Space

Change Fitness is set in a private studio with premium equipment to lead you in your workout. We cater to all individuals but take pride in our intimate approach to workouts for those that are not ready for the distractions a busy gym presents. Change Fitness is about addressing the whole being and providing the space you need to achieve whatever goals you are focusing on. Our studio is equipped for HIIT, Strength training, CrossFit workouts, Aerobic and Anaerobic Focused Training, Yoga, and mindfulness meditations. Success to us is achieving balance in the fitness of the mind and body.

Our Story

Change Fitness was an idea that began in the basement of Steph's legendary sister and brother-in-law's home. In a world that was battling to take a holistic approach to health & wellness, it was a tough time to start a 'gym' business. But there appeared to be a need and a want for movement, connection and a physical and emotional release. So, up started the Change Fitness One-on-one Personal Training Studio. Fortunately for us, the people of Shawnigan Lake loved the personal family-style studio, and business was booming!

Fast forward to a few months later, and in person sessions became a no go zone. With such uncertainty in the upcoming months, we knew we had to pivot, so we decided it was time to move things online, and within a month and a half, the Change Fitness App was up and running. It was a challenging time to say the least, but Steph knew that now more than ever, it was an important time to provide an affordable space for the community to move and connect. Steph did Saturday morning Zoom classes, online challenges, and began recording some pretty impressive workout videos, ensuring the community got, not only a solid workout, but had a laugh while doing it!

This online hub opened the door for Steph to begin Corporate Health and Wellness Programs for Organizations. She started working with a team from Toronto and California, and since then, has linked up with Global Organizations to bring together an Employee Health and Wellness Program that supports business's in providing the tools necessary to establish health and wellness as pillars in the workforce. Steph brings together Allied Health Professionals to do Wellness Webinars, provides 1:1 Goal setting sessions for employees, as well as a Corporate Wellness App which is driven by Canada's largest Telehealth provider. She is now working with several companies to promote wellness in the workplace, leading to increased employee satisfaction, employee retention and improving the overall culture and wellness of the individuals and corporations.

Steph's individual and business growth has sadly but (excitedly!) lead her out of the family studio and into her own space. She is now following her original dream of leading community in group training sessions, providing a safe space for movement and growth, and of course programming some solid workouts for her clients!

Meet Your Coach

CEO: Stephanie Denny

Meet Stephanie, the Founder of Change Fitness. Steph is a Strength and Conditioning Coach, certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, and has a background in nutritional behaviour support.

Steph's career has led her from the Australian Coast, to the East Coast waters of Canada, and back to the mountainous ranges of beautiful BC. Steph has worked in boutique personal training studios, boxing gyms and strength and conditioning studios, with her most recent endeavor being creating Change Fitness, where she continues to work in studio and virtually with clientele all around the world. 

Steph's expertise in coaching ranges anywhere from HIIT, Strength, Aerobic and Anaerobic Focused Training, CrossFit workouts, Stretching, and mindfulness meditations.

Steph take's a holistic approach when it comes to training her clients. She educates clients on the supporting pillars of optimal training: movement, nutrition, sleep, recovery, gut health, hormone homeostasis, injury prevention and a healthy mindset. Success to Steph is achieving balance in both fitness of the mind and body.
